What is Hyperbaric Medicine?
Chronic wounds that don’t heal are frequently treated using hyperbaric medicine, a non-invasive technique. The patient receives hyperbaric treatment by being put in a chamber that is 100% oxygen-filled and pressurized to several atmospheres. The average duration of hyperbaric therapy is two hours. Most patients will feel little different than they would at home on their beds. They can watch TV or listen to music, converse with loved ones, or just relax and take a nap.
